One of the largest potential struggles for a transportation technology program is staying current with equipment. We strive to be able to help programs bridge the gap and receive the equipment they need. However, we can't do it without support from our industry friends. For that reason, the NACAT Education Foundation is actively requesting donations through its Gifts-In-Kind program. If you or your company have any products which you feel could be beneficial to transportation technology educators and programs, please contact us.
There are two ways in which a company can have their in-kind donations distributed:
- A company can simply request a list of educators (and their program address) and ship equipment directly to the educator at the company's expense.
- A company can contact the NACAT Education Foundation, go through the appropriate IRS level steps, and ship their donation to the Foundation. Once an equipment donation is received, it will be cataloged by the Foundation and held in storage while awaiting redistribution. We will then advertise the donations in an online catalog and communicate availability with all educators within our grasp. Since the Foundation has limited funds available, educators will need to pay an "administrative fee" (to cover shipping and storage costs) to receive a donated item. Once the fee is received, the Foundation will ship the donated equipment to the requesting educator. All donations will be redistributed with a letter stating the company which provided the equipment. We know how important it is to put your name in front of the educator and the next generation of technicians. We will do our best to provide value and brand equity for your donation.
Our Gift-In-Kind donation policy is available in the associated menu. For your convenience, we have also provided links to the IRS forms which may be required depending upon the value of the donation.
