THE PURPOSE

The annual SEMA-NACAT Education Foundation Award started in August 2016 to foster the professional development of promising new aftermarket students. In order to open up the award to more institutions, the SEMA-NACAT Education Foundation Award will be granted to the program that demonstrates the most innovative and effective use of aftermarket technology.

Sponsored by SEMA and the NACAT Education Foundation, the annual award provides funding (hotel/air) to allow three instructors (finalists) to attend the SEMA Show and for one of those instructors (award winner) to attend the following summer NACAT conference (registration fee).

AWARD CRITERIA

For this award, the use of aftermarket products in the classroom, the development of aftermarket curriculum, instructional standards and tracking of student progress, the student involvement in the community, and the passions that the students bring to the program are judged. These criteria should be captured in a video (five minutes) and submitted with this application.

Nomination deadline is August 15, 2017. Announcement of the award finalists will be made by September 1, 2017. Finalists will be invited to attend the SEMA Show Student Program on Monday, October 30, 2017 and the award will be presented at the 2017 SEMA Show Education Partners’ Luncheon held in Las Vegas, NV; on Tuesday, October 31, 2017.

ELIGIBILITY

The award is open to ANY automotive/diesel/collision instructor who works at a public or private school or training center in the US or Canada.  NACAT applicants will receive higher consideration than non-NACAT faculty nominees.

Awards do not take into account any references to age, sex, religion, race, national origin, disability, or ethnic background. Please attach additional sheets to nomination if additional space is required. Each individual is eligible to win only one scholarship/award affiliated with the SEMA/NACAT Education Foundation each year.

* Please note that judging will be based on the information provided here coupled with the reference verification if an applicant successfully enters the final stages of judging. The more detail and information you provide the more effective the selection will be. Attach additional pages, if necessary.
