If you are here because you want to learn how to sponsor a Foundation Award or Scholarship, let us first say THANK YOU for your consideration.  We have tried to make the process easy to understand while providing a simple procedure from which to proceed.

There are two types of awards or scholarships which can be sponsored.  Those that are endowed and those which are restricted.  The main difference between the two is the amount of funding required.

A restricted award or scholarship fund generates one or more scholarship awards based upon the fund's principal. The principal is normally entirely expended on awards during an academic year with the expectation that the fund will be replenished for future awards in the following year.  The funding requirement to sponsor a restricted award or scholarship is a minimum $1,000 gift, as part of a minimum 5-year, $5,000 pledge commitment, given with the intent to award annually and assuming all potential scholarships/awards are bestowed.  Upon request, one-off (single year) restricted award or scholarship sponsorship will be considered.

An endowed award or scholarship fund makes scholarship awards based upon the annual earnings of the fund's principal. Normally, 80 percent of the earnings are devoted to one or more scholarship awards while the remaining 20 percent of earnings are re-invested with the principal.  A minimum balance of $20,000 must be achieved in an endowed scholarship fund to facilitate distribution of a scholarship award. A donor may make contributions over up to five years to achieve the minimum balance of $20,000. The first award distribution will take place approximately one year after the fund achieves full endowment fund status.

The NACAT Education Foundation likes to help those who help us help others.  All who sponsor an award / scholarship will receive the following benefits during the lifetime of the scholarship/award.  It is our way of helping you to get your company and/or products in front of those you chose to assist.

  • Company logo placed on the NACAT Education Foundation website homepage and linked to company website.
  • Company logo placed on appropriate NACAT Education Foundation website Sponsor or Patron Wall and linked to company website.
  • Company logo placed on NACAT Education Foundation scholarship/award marketing materials.
  • An opportunity, at the sponsoring company’s expense, to present an educator award to the recipient during the Awards Banquet at the annual NACAT Conference.

An award / scholarship donation form, FAQ, and scholarship / award standard operating procedures are available in the associated menu.  Of course, as always, if you have questions, please contact us if you have any questions.
