Brief Biography:

Bobby started his career in the Automotive Aftermarket fresh out of college in 1978. His experience includes sales in both automotive, heavy duty with emphasis in hydraulics. He has served in many positions throughout the years and in 1999 accepted a position with Gates Corporation as Hydraulic Regional Sales Manager for the central states. He was later promoted to Zone Manager and then promoted to National Trainer Manager. Bobby and his training team are responsible for training all of North America and Canada.

The position of National Trainer allows Bobby to focus on specific needs and growth areas of his customer base. It also affords him the opportunity to work closely with the professional automotive educator and customer educating them on problems associated with belt and coolant systems.

Bobby is a member of the Madison United Methodist Church of Madison, MS where he has served as a Sunday school teacher. He also is a past Scout Master of local Troops 9 and 15 in Madison, MS. Bobby served as a past board member of the Mississippi Automotive Wholesalers Association and currently serves as a foundation board member of NACAT. In his spare time Bobby is an avid radio control pilot and serves as Vice President for his local club.

Bobby has been married to Betty Cannon Bassett for 31 years and has 2 boys, Seth and Ross. Seth is in the PhD program and teaches Geography at Florida State University. Ross is a junior majoring in Criminal Justice at the University of Southern Mississippi.
